Key Plug – Testing Plugs




The Key Plugs made by Konecty, within the strictest standards of security within the electronic segment, are normally used to set up connections of the equipment to measure voltage and current in panels of relays, energy measuring devices and other such equipment and instruments, meaning that there is no need to de-energise the panels which would cause the interruption of the circuit.

Security and speed

Only the current contacts shall be opened before the coupling of the Key Plug. Its maintenance, as also the reorganisation of components for adaptation to other types of test switches, can easily be obtained with the insertion of new components that can be supplied separately.

Versatility of connection

The versatility of the key plug can be checked through the different ways of connecting the equipment for trials. Here, we can use all sizes and standards of banana plugs, ring connectors, as also the direct use of contact through wires, by means of the holes that exist on the bodies of the connection pins.

The KEY PLUG has 10 variations of the contact position (see configuration table) which are adapted to the specific configurations of the checking switches, covering practically the whole range of this equipment.

Security recommendations

When the Key Plug is used in the current circuits for measurements, then the connections with the test equipment shall be made before the insertion of the Key Plug in the checking switch, thus avoiding any operating problems for the user.


The individual test plug for circuits allows the measurement of currents without the need to interrupt the input into the circuit (switching off). It can be inserted in the positions for current testing of the Checking Switches after the respective knife switch has been opened. This plug consists of two plates constructed in materials with high conductance of electricity, separated by a plate of insulating material. The measuring equipment is then connected to the plug by means of multifunctional connections which allow the affixing by ring terminals, wires, or multimeter connectors.


For security reasons, the connections between the measuring equipment and the Individual Test Plug shall be done PRIOR TO the insertion of the plug at the location.

The Test Plug has 10 variations of positions of contacts that adapt to specific styles of the Test Switches covering almost the whole product range of this type of equipment. The complete KONECTY test switch is made of Baquelite, heat-conformed, which is material known throughout the world for its security and dimensional stability even after years of intensive use.


When the test plug is used in the current circuit to make measurements, then the connections between the block of plugs and the measuring equipment shall be made before the insertion of the plug in the checking switch.

NOTE: Some special configurations may not have their respective layout of contact positions for the plugs, in which case it shall be necessary to consult the list of compatible models.


This test plug is used in one single model for any style or configuration of KEY-E or similar, and is used when there is the intention to Trial the equipment to which the test block is attached, separately from the electrical circuit.

Different from the other combs, this accessory shall be used with the block totally open, both voltage and current; short-circuited TCs and open voltage.

This block has 10 contacts of the plate variety which couple up in all the possible positions in each block; always on the side where the terminals linked to the equipment to be trialled are located; in addition, there is a transversal plastic plate which is part of the body of the comb and which, when introduced, opens all the contact springs in the current position (those same springs which receive the connection of the same PLUGs in an activated system); thus, with the introduction thereof, the equipment is totally separate from the electrical circuit.

This means that all the tests and trials as desired may be made with speed and security. We also warn that the use of this test equipment is totally recommended together with the checking switches, as they are a complement thereto improving the application thereof and increasing usable life, thus making the work of technicians and also substantially improving the security of the operators.
